The saddest news this week is the death of Ben Parker of Tongabezi. The whole community is still in shock at the loss of one of its best-known lodge-owners who came to Livingstone when tourism was in its infancy. Tongabezi Lodge is now recognised as one of the best lodges in the whole of Africa.

Other news includes a new luxury hotel in Victoria Falls Town, a melanistic zebra in the Okavango and penguins dying on Halifax Island off Namibia. Some excellent photographs too – a crocodile taking a baboon in Mana Pools, a crested turaco and one snake eating another!
